Connections, connections, connections.

SO I just got back from the Kelly Clarkson/Graham Colton Band concert. It was absolutely fantastic!

I got down to the Schnitz around 7:15. There were hoards of teenage girls swarming about anxiously, waiting to get in. I decided the best place to go would be the PAID WILL CALL ticket booth. I walked right up, told the lady my name and said I was on the guest list for the Graham Colton Band. She asked for some ID and pulled out a little envelope with my name on it. Sweet!

Into the theater I went. The Schnitz is a wonderful place to go for a concert. It's very elegant (they hold a lot of symphonies there), with an old style opera house feeling to it. So I walked in and began my search for the band's touring manager. I was supposed to meet him at the soundboard 10 minutes before the band was to go on.

A nice usher brought me over to the soundboard, where I waited for Brett. He came up, introduced himself, and sent me to Tricia, a lady in charge of the merch. She handed me a clip board and a ton of stickers and sent me out into the masses to promote the band.

I managed to get 24 email addresses and gave away all of the stickers. The lights started to dim and I realized I hadn't even looked to see where my seat was. I ran back up the aisle to an usher, who directed me. I really thought she was joking. But she wasn't! I had a floor seat, about 10 rows back from the stage. PERFECT vantage point. I gathered my stuff up and sat down.

A man next to me introduced himself and asked if I worked for the band. I said I was a street team member and was given a free pass in order to promote the new cd and so on. He asked me if I'd met the band yet. I said no, but I planned on meeting them afterwards at the signing. He nodded and went off for a bit.

Graham Colton Band came on, and had an AMAZING set. The crowd wasn't exactly receptive to it, but GCB is really more of a Lifehouse/Dashboard Confessional type feel than Kelly Clarkson. Not exactly the thing that 12 year old American Idol wannabes want to hear. But it was an awesome performance nonetheless.

In the break between GCB and Kelly Clarkson, I managed to get a few more email addresses. Then the lights went dim, the crowd went crazy, and Kelly came out. It's weird to me to see people like that. You know? Instead of thinking, 'Wow, that's Kelly Clarkson', I think 'She hung out with Simon and Paula and Randy' or 'She has 2 best selling albums under her belt' or anything else random. But let me tell you, that girl has one hell of a voice. She's absolutely astounding live, believe me!

After the concert was over, I got to meet the band. NICEST AND HOTTEST GUYS EVER. aside from precious hayden and johnny of course. YEAH!

Pictures to come soon!
