Updating from Portugal!!!
I have to say, this place has blown away my expectations. I was ignorant and really expected to see a poverty stricken country. What I see is a beautiful land full of beautiful people. Economically, times are rough here. But the streets are clean, there are smiles everywhere, the weather is gorgeous and there is a great sense of pride throughout. Wildfires are raging and a lot of devastation is going on, but the people are very devoted to God and are taking it all very well.
My hotel is very nice. VERY nice. But their internet server is down at the moment. So this is coming from a small internet cafe in a shopping mall. I know, itīs pathetic that I canīt survive without the online world, but really I promised people I would send out some emails. I still have some time left on the little clock thingy so Iīm using it to my advantage!
